Old Rugbeian (Rugby School)

£85

Rugby School is an independent boarding school in Rugby, Warwickshire, UK.

Rugby was founded in 1567 as a free grammar school for local boys but it was made more famous by the arrival of Thomas Arnold as Headmaster in 1828.

The novel Tom Brown's Schooldays was based on Rugby School and even more notably and obviously, it was where the game of Rugby Football was invented.

The story of William Webb Ellis picking up the ball and running with it has been proved a myth but nonetheless it has endured well!

Former pupils include: Neville Chamberlain, Rupert Brooke, Lewis Carroll, Matthew Arnold and John Aspinall.

All of our belts are hand beaded in Kenya by the Maasai, using an average of 6000 beads.

We use the highest quality leather to ensure our belts are extremely long lasting and durable.

This belt is 1.5 inches wide.

The old Rugby School tie is not a tie at all. It’s a Manyatta belt.

DELIVERY:

We believe in being totally honest with our customers. Like a bespoke suit or pair of shoes, outstanding craftsmanship takes time. When the order is placed, the mamas in Kenya start beading your belt, utilising their cultural and ancestral skills. Once this is complete, the belt is sent to us in the UK. For this reason, please allow 3-4 weeks for delivery. Trust us - it is utterly worth the wait!
